Once again the WSJ has published an article by Ms. Tomato under her nom de plume, Michèle Gentille. The January 21-22 piece was an interview with talented L.A. Chef Suzanne Goin, who owns the restaurant Lucques and has recently published her first cookbook, "Sunday Suppers at Lucques", conveniently available in the left hand column of this website.
Suzanne likes the idea of supper, when friends and family gather over big pots of food and get lazy together. A seductive concept, and one that provides a great forum for really good recipes. In this article, she contributes a how-to for braised chicken with fregola sarda, a toasted Italian cous-cous kind of pasta. She garnishes it with a lemony date relish.
To see the entire article, you may have to subscribe to the Wall Street Journal online, or pick up future weekend editions of the paper for more food, travel and other charming soft news items in their new PURSUITS section.
