The musical act One Ring Zero is working on an album comprised of recipes set to music.  Aptly named The Recipe Project, the band's doings can be read about on the Village Voice blogsite, full article here.

"ORZ's new album, tentatively titled The Recipe Project, sets recipes to music. So far, they include Chris Cosentino's Brains and Eggs, Mario Batali's Spaghetti with Sweet 100 Tomatoes, and Michael Symon's Octopus Salad with Black-Eyed Peas. And if that's not enough to chew on, the band's also got a food blog, Go Eat Some Food. Hearst chatted with Fork in the Road over e-mail about rocking out to octopus salad, the curious e-mailing habits of chefs, and the link between Marty Robbins and sweet potato fries."

Mona Lisa in Toast

Oh the Lady with the Beatific Smile....and made over in Toast.  I'nt she lovely and Who doesn't love Toast? 

The Mona Lisa on Toast by Tadhiko Okawa recreated Da Vinci's Mona Lisa ... from pieces of burnt toast. Okawa creates these edible works by etching the picture on aluminum foil, wrapping each piece of toast in a section of foil, cuting out the design, then toasting it in a horizontal toaster.

A New Meaning to 'Two Fried Eggs, Please'

What?  A perfect blend of food and fashion?  Could anything be more up Ms. Tomato's alley?  We think not!  A model walks the runway in the Agatha Ruiz De La Prada show during Milan Fashion Week Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2009 in Milan, Italy wearing the perfect picnic dress.  Gazundheit!

Recycled Kitchenware: Jim Bauer's Metal Pets

Jim Bauer, an artist based in Northern California, makes robots and metal pets out of kitchen gadgets and various bits of discarded aluminum.  A former teapot and kettle salesman, he scours thrift stores for forgotten treasures and turns them into creatures that are sometimes electrically-rigged so their eyes can light up.  See more on his page on The Ames Gallery website, linked here.
